One Bead in the classroom

Central to One Bead's mission is the work we do in schools, providing students in grades 6-8 with opportunities to meet and interact with community leaders.

Whether it's assembling speaker panels for all-school assemblies or hosting weekly interviews in classrooms, we ensure that each interaction is thoughtfully crafted to inspire, educate, and empower our students. Through these dynamic engagements, we aim to broaden horizons, spark curiosity, and cultivate connections between students and professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines.

Meet the Instructors

Michelle Perez

Program Director

Born and raised in Boston and a proud graduate of Boston Latin School, I’m deeply committed to serving my community. With firsthand experience as both a student and educator in the Boston Public Schools, I recognize the value of empowering students beyond the classroom. Through One Bead, I strive to instill a sense of empowerment in my students, equipping them to make informed decisions about their future.

Reynaldo Benzan-Martinez

Program Director

Originally from Cambridge, MA, I attended UMass Lowell and graduated with a degree in public health. My experience as student who struggled to stay motivated in school inspired me to join One Bead right out of college and empower others. As a Program Director, I propel students forward by nurturing their self-confidence and connecting them to role models in the community. My goal is to ignite curiosity and passion for learning, helping students thrive in school and beyond.
